Kecharis Monastery

The historical name of the city (once it was a village) Tsaghkadzor is Kecharis. The name of the settlement was received from the historical sights - the monastery complex of Kecharis. The monastery was founded in the 11th century, together with its school, and for a long time, it was the spiritual centre of Armenia.

Orbeli brothers house museum

You hardly know about the talented brothers Orbeli and in vain. After all, their contribution to the cultural and scientific development of the USSR is difficult to overestimate. The eldest of the brothers - Ruben Orbeli - was a Soviet scientist and is considered to be the founder of underwater archaeology in the USSR. The middle of the brothers, Leon Orbeli, was a Soviet physiologist, academician, vice-president of the USSR Academy of Sciences and colonel-general of the medical service. The younger of the brothers, Joseph Orbeli, was a Soviet academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences and director of the Hermitage.The house-museum of the Orbeli brothers is located near the centre of Tsaghkadzor.

Leonid Yengibarov Monument (8 minutes drive from Golden Palace Hotel Tsaghkadzor)

Right in the centre of Tsaghkadzor, on the main square, stands a monument to the fantastic artist, the mime-clown, writer who worked and performed in the role of a "sad clown". The cultural centre "Sofit" is named after Yengibarov. In Tsaghkadzor the memory of the artist is honoured not only by the monument: the International Festival of Leonid Yengibaryan is held in Tsaghkadzor every summer.
