The Crisis in Armenia: Who is to Blame and What to Do

At present, the internal political situation in Armenia is not stable. There is a crisis around the Constitutional Court, the Parliament is ratifying the Lanzarote Convention, as well as the law regarding the confiscation of illegal property.

A story with 40 tons of smuggled cigarettes, as well as the scandal about Prime Minister Pashinyan’s grandfather and many other attacks, lead to a drop in the rating of the "My Step" faction.

Against this background, other political forces appear that are trying to consolidate the society around them. So, the former director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, created and actively promotes the Rodina party.

One gets the impression that the next agony that began in Armenia is an uncontrolled and natural process. However, this is not quite true. If you look in depth, there will always be those who "throw oil into the fire" on the principle of "divide and conquer."

Grant-eaters and their patrons paid by the West are not happy that in society the appointment of Pashinyan as Prime Minister did not help strengthen the US position in the South Caucasus. Despite the pandemic, Washington continues to attempt to establish a puppet regime in Armenia. The image is being created that the current leadership supposedly with its destructive actions has led the country to a socio-economic abyss. Therefore, grant-eaters are calling for the next change of head of state apparatus.

Nikol Pashinyan has long failed to live up to the expectations of the American ambassador. Every day in the country anti-American sentiment intensifies, and aversion to the West and Western values increases. What to do in such a situation? Wait for the population to organize anti-American protests, as a result of which six diplomats will remain in the American embassy, as in Belarus, and all the instruments for influencing civil society will disappear ?! No, this is an unacceptable option for the United States, for 30 years they forged the political elite. There is only one option that will stop the development and spread of anti-Western, anti-Western sentiments, destroy the fertile soil for them. This is the physical elimination of Nikol Pashinyan and blaming the former regime, as a result of which Westernism will gain a second wind in Armenia.

Armenia really needs a new quality of governance, but most of all we need consolidation. In the conditions of hatred and enmity it is impossible to overcome the crisis.
