Solar water heating system launched in kindergarten

Making the favorable climate conditions of Armenia serve to the best of the border communities of our country is a matter of importance. Partnering structures VivaCell-MTS and the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) have achieved yet another milestone in this direction. Months ago works were being implemented in the kindergarten of Voskevan: the heating system was being modernized to use the opportunities offered by new technologies. Now the works are completed: the solar water heating system is in place ready to be used.

The solar water heating system with 13.8 kW/hour capacity is an important achievement for the borderland village. Before the installment of the system, throughout 5 years, the kindergarten was heated only partly. Instead of 50-60 kids, the kindergarten was able to accept just 30. With the new heating system the building will be heated properly; the system will also help with significantly saving the scarce means. This system will reduce heating costs by 40%. A 400-liter heat-exchanger tank has also been installed to provide hot water in the building of the kindergarten without additional expenses.

The launching ceremony of the water heating system was attended by VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian, the coordinator of the program Martin Malachyan, the head of the Noyemberyan community Karen Abazyan, the Head of Voskevan administration Vladimir Ghazinyan and acting director of the kindergarten Nona Muradyan.

“The nature has been generous to our country. We need to use the energy of sun purposefully. The application of new technologies gives us that opportunity. The solution is in the benefit of our national interests, too. The years of project implementation have proved that the use of solar energy is efficient from both environmental and economic perspectives. I am proud to say this is yet another achievement in one more borderland village jointly with our partner organization,” VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.

The efficiency of alternative energy sources has been proved to be justified in the whole world; the programs implemented by the partnering organizations have been yet another confirmation of that. The application of new technologies allows reducing community costs. Taking into consideration the ecological and economic effectiveness of the program VivaCell-MTS and the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) will continue to support border villages.
