UK pledges it won't send Assange to country with death penalty

The UK will not expel founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange in a country where the law provides for the death penalty. Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Alan Duncan stated that, Vesti.ru reports.

Duncan added that the United Kingdom cares about Assange’s health and noted that the decision on extradition is taken personally by the Head of the Interior Ministry.

Julian Assange has been hiding in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since August 2012. April 11, 2019, he was detained. In the US, Assange is accused of hacking into Pentagon computers and publishing secret documents on the Internet. In particular, WikiLeakspublished information about the US military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
