Russian and Turkish presidents, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held a telephone conversation, during which they discussed coordination in Syria.

The Kremlin website reports that the Russian leader drew attention to the activation of terrorists, whose actions led to numerous casualties among the civilians. He also emphasized that the Russian-Turkish agreements on Idlib should be strictly implemented. The presidents agreed to take measures to improve coordination of joint actions in Syria through the ministries of defense.

Both politicians expressed their support to the dialogue within the framework of the Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva.

According to Reuters agency, Erdogan also discussed with Putin an attack on Turkish troops in Syria on February 3. Turkish President said that these events are detrimental to the joint peaceful efforts in the region. However, Erdogan declared that Ankara will use its rights to self-defense in the event of similar attacks.
