In the U.S., abnormally warm weather in January led to an increase in the number of new jobs in a number of industries. This is stated in a report released by the U.S. Department of Labor, reported on Friday, February 7, Voice of America.

The U.S. economy added 225,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate fell to 3.6 percent. According to economists who prepared the report on the labor market for January, the reason for the decline in the unemployment rate is atypically warm weather for the U.S.,” – said in a statement.

It is noted that the sectors affected by the weather have grown the most – construction, transport, entertainment, and recreation, as well as health care.

The average wage also rose last month to $28.44 an hour. January was the 18th month in a row when average wages are growing by more than 3%, the report says.
