Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told a press conference after the NATO summit in Madrid that "Sweden has promised us that 73 terrorists will be extradited", "We expect our allies to take into consideration our concerns not just at a rhetorical level but also through facts", Erdogan said from the Madrid NATO Summit, talking about a memorandum between Ankara, Helsinki and Stockholm with which Turkey lifted a veto on the candidature of the Scandinavian countries to join the Atlantic Alliance in exchange for their pledge to distance themselves from groups which the Turkish government considers as terrorist organizations.

"We will closely follow if these statements are maintained or not", added Erdogan, defining the memorandum with the Scandinavian countries as a "diplomatic victory".

Turkey expects Finland and Sweden to "intensify" their efforts in the fight against terrorism, after "full solidarity" was promised to the country in negotiations that led Ankara to lift its veto on their NATO membership, Erdogan said Thursday in Madrid. "We want actions, not words", he said.
