According to UN Secretary General António Guterres, today’s missile attacks on the port in Odessa jeopardize the fulfillment of the conditions of the “grain agreement” concluded yesterday. Mr. Guterres condemned the strikes and called for Russia, Turkey and Ukraine to fulfill their obligations. According to the Ukrainian authorities, the granaries were not damaged in the attack.

“Secretary General (UN.— “b”) unreservedly condemns reports of strikes in the Ukrainian port of Odessa today. Yesterday all parties (agreements.— “b”) have taken on clear obligations on the world stage to ensure the safe movement of Ukrainian grain and related products to world markets,” the UN Secretary General said in a statement posted on site organizations.

Earlier today, the head of the press center of the defense forces of southern Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, said that four rockets were fired at Odessa, two of which hit the infrastructure of the Odessa port, but the granary was not affected. The situation was also commented on by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who said that the strikes on Odessa cast doubt on the readiness of some parties to the “grain deal” to fulfill its terms. The fire that started as a result of the attack was extinguished. The Russian Defense Ministry has yet to comment on the incident.
