A lucky ticket-holder in Illinois has won a $1.33B Mega Millions prize.

The ticket, which was purchased at a Speedway gas station and convenience store in Des Plaines, matched all six numbers in Friday night's drawing.

The winning numbers were 13-36-45-57-67, with a gold Mega Ball of 14.

Lottery officials had estimated the winning take at $1.28 billion but revised the number up to $1.337 billion on Saturday.
McDonald noted that the final value was higher than the estimate based on actual sales.

The jackpot was the nation's third-largest lottery prize. It grew so large because no one had matched the game’s six selected numbers since it was last won at $20 million in Tennessee on April 15. That’s 29 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner.
A billboard noted that the odds of winning the jackpot were one on 303 million.
It’s the second largest jackpot in the 20-year history of the game, topped only by the $1.537 billion won in South Carolina on October 23, 2018," according to the release.
The release also noted that there were other big prizes won Friday, as 26 tickets matched all five white balls to win the game’s second-tier prize.

"In total, there were 14,391,740 winning tickets sold across all nine prize tiers in the July 29 drawing, including the single jackpot-winning ticket," the release noted.

The next estimated jackpot will be $20 million. It will be drawn Aug. 8 at 11 p.m. EDT.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The game is coordinated by state lotteries.
