THE PROMISING CONFERENCE OF JUSTICE EXPERTS IN ARMENIA

At the moment, I am in the Matenadaran building, where the third annual international conference called by the efforts of the American Center for Truth and Justice, "HUMAN RIGHTS and ACCOUNTABILITY, ways of post-conflict justice" dedicated to human rights issues, was launched.

The group of world-class experts have gathered to express their standpoints on extreme manifestations of politics, to express their support for the protection of human rights of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians, to look for ways to resist hate speech, to show active professional participation in discussions, to protect justice, to react to the silence of the mass media regarding Nagorno-Karabakh.

The efforts of the conference are aimed at the expansion of human rights, referring to the problems mentioned in her opening speech the judge of the first instance court of California, Hon. Gassia Apkarian, who started her cooperation with Armenia still in 1996 as an adviser to the RA president.

She was then the special assistant of the Armenian ambassador to the USA and during the visit of the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to the USA, she assumed the role of an escort-translator. Before that, Gassia Apkarian had already managed to be in Armenia. Being the head of the Armenian Congress of the USA in 1992, she was always filled with special pride that she was able to contribute to the independent Armenia with her activities. Today, Gassia Apkarian is again with Armenia to support the violated human rights of Nagorno Karabakh Armenians / Artsakh, who were deprived of their basic right to live in their homeland.

The three panel discussions of the day are attended by Judge Arman Dilanyan - Chairman of the RA Constitutional Court, Senior Specialist in International Criminal Law - Gurgen Petrosyan, laureate of the 2023 CFTJ "Lawyer of the Year" award of the International Academy of Nuremberg Principles, and many others. Today's keynote speaker is Honorable Raul Cano Pangalanga, Judge of the International Criminal Court of the Philippines /2015-2021/, Professor of the University of the Philippines.
