At the present moment, the reading room of the university library is crowded, where writers, literary critics, famous public figures, journalists, family friends and detective story lovers have gathered. All of them, carried away by Melania Petrosyants’ detective stories, are in one place to share their fascination and love to the writer, developer and innovator of the Armenian detective genre. Melania Petrosyants, a publicist and journalist, managed to have authored many books. (By the way, you can watch the entire video of the event later on Shamshyan's page.)

The triangle of a lawful thief, policeman, and society recently obtained a new meaning when the freshly added personages of detective Hayk and Mrs. Nune, who thanks to the innate detective abilities of a woman, manages to be on the same line with Hayk, the detective, give a new breath to the genre. Thanks to Melania Petrosyants' accurate analysis and woman's third eye, a new development is taking place in today's Armenian reality of detective story writing. It should be noted that, being a sub-genre of criminal fiction, Petrosyants’ Armenian detective differs from the accepted world detective. The developments of the detective subgenre, starting from the ancient period, from the Chinese and European, American detective genre, show that Petrosyants’ Armenian detective stories have a certain touch of national breath within the global context.

The solution of the mystery seeming to be far away, all of a sudden because of some unforeseen circumstances appear to be directly leading to the solution of the challenging puzzle. Petrosyants’ detective stories are distinguished due to the fact that they move in line with modern global developments when necessary. Melania Petrosyants' national way of thinking is definitely one of the greatest values: firstly, even lawful thieves living for honor show a clear dedication to Artsakh problems, they are able to establish justice due to the tangible knowledge they have in all spheres, they are often sympathetic and do not distance themselves from justice, they are able to solve issues due to the power of mind and spirit; secondly, thanks to Petrosyants, police and military structures and their representatives who approach the solution of safety issues with the awareness of professional duty and having adopted love-towards-your -nation standpoints like Petrosyants’ hero Detective Hayk, who is believed to be created by the example of the well-known and impartial, respected in the society Armenian detective Hayk Gabrielyan, is a significantly important personage possessing Gabrielyan’s professional skills and knowledge.

Poirot, Holmes, Agatha Christie’s heroes are pale in comparison to the bright individual characters created by Mrs. Melania. Among the third group of advantages, the mastery of the author with which she constructs her speech, where every word and idea is highly oriented and aimed at the conclusion should be mentioned. It should be specially noted that Melania Petrosyants’ stories in cognitive terms and due to her excellent application of professional skills should have received some attention long ago from the relevant police and military structures, since no one ever presented their superhuman work better and more attractively from a more favorable perspective until today. A fourth essential aspect is that, nevertheless, even the most negative characters are of great interest because they help the police and detectives to better portray themselves in their daily overwhelming but very important work.
