CONFERENCE AT YSU ON THE TOPIC OF GENOCIDE

A couple of days ago an international conference jointly organized by YSU, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, California State University, Northridge Armenian Studies Program, Lepsiushaus Potsdam, YSU Institute of Armenian Studies, YSU European Languages and Communication Faculty, and YSU Oriental Studies Faculty took place in YSU: "Armenian Genocide. reflections of the past and the present", which was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Franz Werfel's novel "The Forty Days of Mount Musa".

The speakers focused on the historical-political and literary significance of the novel, the pro-Armenian activities of Franz Werfel, as well as the consistently implemented Turkish-Azerbaijani genocidal policy towards Armenians in different periods of history and its manifestations. The conference was held within the framework of the program implemented with the basic funding of the Committee of Higher Education and Science of the RA Ministry of Education and Culture, with the financial support of Yerevan State University and individual benefactors.
