2022 World Cup: Richard Scudamore declares FIFA and UEFA have let European football down

Premier League chief Richard Scudamore says that European football will suffer the most after today's decision which will see the 2022 World Cup moved from its usual summer slot to November and December.
A FIFA taskforce has recommended that the competition in Qatar be held in Winterat a meeting in Doha on Tuesday.
FIFA will likely ratify the recommendation definitively at their next meeting in Zurich next month, putting world football's governing body on a collision course with Europe's major leagues and clubs.
They had preferred an April-May tournament to minimise domestic distruptions, but now face seeing THREE seasons disrupted by the World Cup.
There are no plans afoot to reduce the size of the tournament from 32 teams or 64 matches, but the tournament would be shortened by a matter of days.
And Premier League boss Scudamore was suitably unimpressed, declaring that FIFA haven't had to compromise much, while UEFA have let its member down.
"On behalf of all the European leagues and particularly the European clubs who provide most of the players for this World Cup, the idea that we've turned up to a pretty short meeting to be told 'it's going to happen in November-December' is very disappointing," declared Scudamore.
"We've had a consistent position all along I think. For the integrity of a football league to have to stop for six or seven weeks is less than ideal, and it looks like no-one else is giving much up.
"FIFA keep all their international dates, FIFA keep their World Cup intact; even UEFA, who've, I think, let us down a little bit, have clearly pushed this to late December so their Champions League can start and carry on again just like it always does.
"And it's the European leagues and European clubs that are going to suffer the most, so it's very disappointing."
Also under consideration was a January-February tournament, but support for that was minimal due to a potential clash with both the Winter Olympics and the Superbowl.
