Water births have become very popular over the last few years, with many women opting for a birth that's been described as 'more blissful' than other births.

Now, some women are taking the water birth experience to the next level by giving birth -yep, in the ocean. One mother, who appears on Channel 4 documentary Extraordinary Births has decided that not only will she give birth in the ocean, but she also plans to have a dolphin as a midwife.

According to a report on the Daily Mail, spiritual healer Dorina Rosin and her partner Maika Suneagle, from Hawaii, spoke to presenter Katie Piper about their plans to have a 'dolphin-assisted' birth. Of course, the big risk being that another creature with a fin, such as a Great White Shark, could turn up instead.

It may seem very strange to you, but the couple, who run a healing retreat on Hawaii's Big Island, believe in the healing power of nature say their baby will be able speak 'dolphin'.

The labour will not be the first time Dorina has met her dolphin 'midwife', as she took part in an ocean swim with dolphins when she was 38-weeks pregnant for a blessing, at which time she swam alongside the mammals.
