The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia organizes events, including on February 13-14, 2024 in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists of Armenia "Martiros Saryan", a photo exhibition with the motto "Source of Wisdom Mahtumkuli Fragi" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammedgeldi Ayazov and other officials from various foreign and local organizations.

The president of the Union, Suren Safaryan, mentioned in his speech that Mahtumkuli Fragi, being a great humanist, dedicated his whole life and activities to human beings. He emphasized human relations and national values, which have cognitive and educational significance for the nation. Generations should be educated with those values, which will put them on the right path.

According to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia Muhammedgeldi Ayazov, the man and poet Mahtumkuli Fragi left generations an immortal literary legacy, which became an important part of world literature, because life proved the truth and wisdom of his enlightened ideas. Generations have been brought up with his ideas for 300 years, thanks to which the author's greatest dream, and he dreamed of seeing Turkmenistan as a most powerful state, has come true today. The leadership in Turkmenistan spared no effort and energy in realizing the dream of the humanist writer who enjoys great popularity in the country.

It is an undeniable fact that the poet instilled unity, patriotism among generations with his works, to be friendly, honest and fair towards other peoples, to respect their national and spiritual values, traditions and customs.

Perhaps the universal ideas and humanity of the Turkmen creator caused his biography and works, manuscript studies to be translated into different languages.

The author's works were first translated into Armenian in 1959, then in 1983, and later in 2014. The author of the translations is the poet, translator Varuzhan Khastur, who is popular not only in our country with his thoughtful-philosophical and powerful lyrical works, but also enjoys the love and respect of the Armenian and Central Asian readers due to his well-written translations of the gems of Central Asian poetry. Poet and translator Varuzhan Khastur, who has long been known in Central Asian countries, who is considered the best translator of Omar Khayyam in Armenian reality, has many fans and his name, activities and translations are included in books, various journals and encyclopedias of different Asian countrie, Turkmenistan including.
