On April 29, at 19: 00, a jubilee evening dedicated to Valentin Podpomogov's 100-th birthday took place in the big hall of the Filmmakers' Union (Yerevan Cinema House) - there were many people, as well as the invitees, who wished to participate. There was no vacant seat in the hall. Entrance was free and people wanted to attend the commemorative evening dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Valentin Podpomogov, a talented, self-taught artist who received many awards. Even with the unaided eye, the predominant presence of people of a certain age was noticeable.

Those gathered in the hall came to relive the beauty that once brought sweeping positive emotions, to pay respect to the great humanist artist and his works. Here were artists, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, cultural experts, colorful faces of cinema, lovers of Podpomogov's art, relatives, friends, people for whom Podpomogov's art was and remains a symbol of perfection. Podpomogo is an intellectual artist, his art belongs to all of Armenia and the world. Podpomogov's role in the development of Armenian cinema and animation genre is indescribable. Humor is combined with the presentation of depth of thought.

Excerpts from documentary films were shown, where artists told interesting episodes related to Podpomogov’s life and art. The parts where he appeared himself in his aristocratic and eloquent image, with a penitrating and kind look, were particularly absorbing, taking the audience to the times when art was oriented towards man, aimed at bringing aesthetic pleasure to man, when the beautiful and the dramatic brought the soul tranquility and unlimited possibility of far-reaching thoughts for the mind.

By combining beauty with powerful humor, the artist has managed to open many closed doors for his fans - the educational and cognitive value of his paintings, films, cartoons, will never fade. Involuntarily, you go back to your childhood, youth, and even adulthood, when times allowed for a harmonious enjoyment of art and did not force you to get carried away by that beauty in order to separate yourself from the atrocities happening in the world at least for a moment.
